This Resource Centre provides general guidance only. Always follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions, the product technical data sheet and your site’s safe system of work. Isolate stored energy before maintenance. For safety-critical, regulated or uncertain applications, ask a competent engineer or the product manufacturer to confirm the specification.
Air leaks waste energy and can make equipment unreliable.
- Survey the system when production noise is low.
- Tag each confirmed leak with location, severity and date.
- Repair loose fittings, damaged tube, worn seals and leaking drains.
- Replace rather than repeatedly cutting back brittle or scored tube.
- Confirm push-in tube is cut square and inserted fully.
- Review unused branches, open blow-offs and permanently pressurised idle equipment.
- Recheck repaired points under normal operating conditions.
- Track compressor run time or system leakage as a maintenance measure.
Never use compressed air to clean clothing or skin. Use pressure equipment only for its intended purpose and follow site controls.
