Renold chain identification and sourcing

Need Renold chain for a maintenance or replacement requirement? Send Bridge Engineering the existing chain reference, photographs and required length or quantity. We can investigate identification and sourcing, with availability and lead time confirmed for your enquiry.

Pitch is a starting point, not the whole specification

For roller-chain identification, Renold highlights pitch, width between the inner plates and roller diameter. Include all three where they can be measured safely, plus the number of strands and any markings. See Renold’s introduction to chain for the measurement diagram.

Tell us what the chain does

Describe the machine and whether the chain drives, conveys or forms part of a lifting arrangement. Include the original parts list and any specified material, coating or attachment requirements. State whether you need a measured length, a particular number of links or a complete assembly.

Lifting and other safety-critical applications require the exact approved specification and competent assessment. General identification measurements must not be used to select a substitute for those applications.

What to send with a Renold enquiry

  1. Chain markings, machine details and the original reference where available.
  2. Confirmed dimensions, strand count and clear attachment details.
  3. Required length or link count, quantity and delivery requirement.

Renold’s official support resources offer further identification information. Worn-component measurements need checking against the original specification.

Supply information: availability and lead time are confirmed for each enquiry. Product references do not imply stock availability or authorised-distributor status. Identification guidance is not a substitute for the equipment maker’s specification or installation instructions. Obtain measurements only when equipment is safely isolated and accessible.
